Rachel Ang
Associate Psychologist
Facilitator at a FreEDom
Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours)

Rachel pursued a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Psychology at the National University of Singapore. During her academic journey, she developed a strong interest in clinical psychology through exploring various areas of psychology. She was also involved in research, where she supported a project examining the efficacy of internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy (i-CBT). As part of her undergraduate experience, she spent a semester at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), where she explored areas such as Nutrition and Mental Health.

Rachel has prior exposure to behavioural therapy, which has shaped her understanding of how structured, evidence-based interventions can support individuals in developing more adaptive ways of coping and making meaningful change. These experiences further strengthened her interest in working collaboratively with individuals to better understand the interaction between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

At Better Life, Rachel supports individuals presenting with a range of psychological difficulties, including challenges related to emotional regulation, anxiety, and eating disorders. She is involved in facilitating the FreEDom Intensive Outpatient Eating Disorder Day Programme, where she works alongside the multidisciplinary team to support clients through structured meal sessions, therapeutic activities, and group discussions. Her work draws on evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Rachel strives to create a warm, containing, and non-judgmental space where individuals feel safe to explore their experiences and work towards their goals at a sustainable pace. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones over a good cup of coffee and going on long walks.
