Dr Kate Gardner is an American licensed psychologist who has spent the last ten years living and working in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and now, Singapore. She has extensive training and experience working with adults, adolescents, and children from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in schools and private practice settings in the United States and Asia. As a trauma-informed practitioner, Dr Kate takes a holistic approach to treating a range of mood and behavioral challenges.


Dr Kate is trained in a number of cognitive and behavioral therapeutic techniques, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her process-based theoretical orientation is rooted in a deep passion for helping individuals develop strategies to foster resilience and growth. This makes her a skilled therapist for individuals seeking ways to balance personal commitments and professional goals, as well as ways to overcome challenges relating to self-esteem, gender identity, trauma, disordered eating, social cognition, depression, and anxiety. She is also skilled in conducting comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessments to help identify learning and behavioral needs, including giftedness, social, emotional and personality features, inattention and impulsivity (i.e., ADHD), & executive functioning.

 

Dr Kate completed her Master’s degree in human development at Harvard University and her Doctoral degree through the APA-accredited psychology program at the University of Connecticut. She is a Licensed Psychologist (New York, USA) as well as a Credentialed Psychologist by the National Association of School Psychologists (USA) and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists (USA).
