Dr. Acacia Lee is a registered clinical psychologist. As a strong believer that scientific research informs clinical practice, Dr. Acacia is also actively involved in research in the field of mental health and its associations with one’s social relationships.
Dr. Acacia has worked with individuals across school, hospital and community settings. She works well with individuals across the lifespan but has a special interest in working with young children and their families. In the course of her work, Dr. Acacia has worked with individuals with a range of issues such as mood and anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, psychotic disorders, phobias, stress and adjustment difficulties, identity formation and relationship difficulties, parental training and child behavioral issues. Dr. Acacia is trained in various therapeutic modalities including Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Schema Therapy.
Fluent in English and Mandarin, Dr. Acacia integrates elements from various therapeutic approaches and adopts a tailored person-centric approach. With compassion and empathy, she creates a safe and warm place for individuals to express their emotions and navigate life’s challenges and difficulties.
Dr. Acacia is also proficient in conducting psychological assessments in areas including but not limited to, cognitive and executive functioning, attention, academic achievement and personality. Through assessments, in addition to understanding one’s weaknesses, Dr. Acacia believes it is as important to identify one’s strengths which can serve as important psychological resources in coping.
In her free time, Dr. Acacia enjoys trying out new hobbies, and exploring nature and new food places with her family and pet dog.
